Vinyasa Superflow

Experience the speed, strength, power, concentration, breath focus, and calmness of Vinyasa Superflow at Zenang Yoga & More.
If you are into the movement, breath and the challenge, this class might be suitable for you.

"Vinyasa" is derived from the Sanskrit term nyasa, which means "to place," and the prefix vi, "in a special way"—as in the arrangement of notes in a raga, the steps along a path to the top of a mountain, or the linking of one asana to the next. In the yoga world the most common understanding of vinyasa is as a flowing sequence of specific asanas coordinated with the movements of the breath.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Yoga is a part of Ashtanga Yoga or Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Vinyasa means "breath synchronized movement." Breathing is an essential part of this dance, because the series of movements are performed synchronously with the breath. Generally, upward movements go with inhalations and downward movements with exhalations.

Yin Yang

Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice - bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.

When these terms are applied to yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility. Yang styles of yoga are those with rhythm and repetition like Vinyasa Flow.

This yoga style is primarily aimed at healing and restoring both mind and body through simple yoga postures that are often held for up to 20 minutes.
Many attributes are used for this such as cushions, bolsters and belts. It is similar to Yin Yoga, but in this yoga style there is less emphasis on flexibility and more on deep relaxation and recovery.

Board Yoga

Board Yoga is a bit like super yoga and surfing .... but then dry! You lie on an extra wide and convex surfboard that is wobbling on the floor. It is a true total-body workout, because you use your entire body. With Board Yoga the elements of balance, balance and focus are strengthened. Because the board wobbles, you feel every move of your weight much better than when you are standing on a hard floor. Your balance, concentration and focus are therefore put to the test a lot. This is therefore a very good training and combination with Yoga.

In Yin yoga, positions are held longer, so you have more time to explore and push your limits. You do not use your body to get into a posture, but you use the posture to feel better. It is therefore the relatively calm nature of a Yin yoga class that appeals to most participants. The lesson is just so nice because you don't have to move very intensively for a moment, but you can take the time for your body. The postures that you adopt with this form of yoga are primarily focused on strengthening and relaxing connective tissue and joints; they stretch deeper muscles and loosen the pelvic area.

In Sanskrit, the term hatha consists of ha (sun) and tha (moon), which refers to the balance between opposites. Hatha Yoga is the most traditional yoga style and the basis on which the other yoga styles originated. The classic Hatha yoga asanas have been developed with the aim of stimulating the internal organs.

Wheel Yoga

A yoga wheel is a circular shaped prop that helps open the front side body, assists in advanced yoga postures, and rolls out the spine.

The yoga wheel will immediately stretch your entire front side body – hip flexors, abdomen, chest, and shoulders. It’s a serious heart opener! It will massage the entire length of your spine in a safe but deep way. The wheel helps yoga practitioners move deeper into postures, specifically heart opening postures like back bends and forearm balances.
